Description

GY cacao beans are the highly prized Ecuadorian Arriba Nacional varietal (aka cacao Arriba, or cacao Nacional). Arriba is a fine flavoured bean characterized by fruity and floral notes, and unique to Ecuador. Our raw beans are certified organic, Rainforest Alliance certified, common allergen-free, non GMO, naturally vegan and delicious!

The beans are hand-selected, fermented and dried to perfection keeping the cacao skin intact. Our cacao is lab tested, clean and pure, and does not go through a “Dutch” process nor alkalized in any way. Giddy Yo Cacao beans are naturally processed at low temps from start to finish to maximize quality and taste while maintaining nutritional integrity.

Our farmers harvest fully mature ripened pods from trees grown in mineral-rich volcanic soil. The plantation from which we source is known for their high quality low cadmium fine flavour cacao. Our supplier has developed and implemented the Native Cacao Farming Initiative, which is an ongoing free education and training program for the cacao harvesters and processors. It is important to us that the Ecuadorians responsible for supplying us our unique cacao are well taken care of; we believe in people over profits. We lab test each lot of raw materials to ensure our high standards are met or exceeded.

Food safety is of primary importance and we are happy to share with you that our Ecuadorian partner holds the following certifications; Organic, UTZ, Rainforest Alliance, Kosher, Halal, Non-GMO, FSSC 22000 Food Safety System Certified, ISO 9001:2015, GMP, BRC Certified. Further steps have been taken to ensure the cacao is non-irradiated and common allergen-free.

    The reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is when I was shopping online for the product the iron content in the picture of the label looked very high and I was excited to find an organic source to help build up my levels. When the package arrived I checked the label and the level was lower. I would have purchased powder form instead as I feel I could have used it better. I still pop a few in the morning and it has a hint of chocolate. It’s a little bitter but I don’t mind the taste. Im sure there are tastier ways to inject them.

    Very fine cacao!

    I had bought some Ethiopian cacao from amazon to use in my coffee and for snacking on the nibs but was not impressed, that's when I learned about fine cacao and Ecuadorian beans. I found this shop and when I got my order I was blown away by the difference, such bright fruit tones with this when roasted low which works especially well with my coffee and a little tonka bean, cocoa heaven!

    these beans are fresh, earthy, bitter as they should be, and full of mojo. they keep life full, awakened and filled with fire.

    Great crunchy, chocolaty and nutty snack

    This is a great crunchy snack, it provides the nutty flavors from the peel, the crunch and the rich raw chocolate taste. I eat them raw but they are also good in shakes and can be melted in reciped or eaten with honey. Can't get any fresher and natural than these cacao beans.
