WHY IS THIS A BETTER MUSHROOM CACAO: The ORAC (Antioxidant Potency) of Astaxanthin dwarfs anything regular mushroom coffee has to offer. In competing blends, the Beta-Glucans, Cordycepin, or Hericenonesare are never standardized, and they use "stock cacao" never monitored for flavanol content. The dosages of the mushrooms in competing blends are typically under dosed as well, yet VP's blend is based on science. Cocoa Flavanols are vital because they are a powerful antioxidant. The Purple Hue in the Pure Cacao is a specific type of cocoa flavanol called an Anthocyanin. This is the same nutrient that is found in Purple Cabbage and Sweet Potatoes. Specific types of Cacao naturally have this color at the time of harvest and we preserve this nutrient by immediately removing moisture at the time of harvest and preventing oxidation, thus retaining it's color. That is why Vital Purple Mushroom Cocoa is technically a purple cocoa, and why it's color should be recognized as a sign that it is very nutrient dense.
