Our cacao powder originates from hand picked Ecuadorian Arriba criollo cacao pods. The beans are hand selected, fermented in specialized huts for approx. 3-4 days, sun-dried to perfection, crushed and winnowed (the skins removed). These nibs are ground in a granite melange and naturally liquefy (cacao beans are naturally high in fat containing approx. 45-60%). The liquefied cacao mass is transferred to a mechanical press where the cacao butter is removed. The remaining mass ('cake') is ground into a fine powder and packaged for your enjoyment. Our cacao does not go through a "Dutch" process nor alkalized in any way.

Our supplier sources fully mature ripe pods from trees grown in mineral rich volcanic soil. These trees are not irrigated from potentially contaminated rivers and streams. Our supplier works directly with the farmers (aka direct trade) and it is our goal to ensure that everyone along the supply chain is well taken care of. Happy workers = happy food= happy people. It is also our goal to provide great tasting, pure & the highest quality CACAO possible. We regularly lab test our products to ensure they meet specifications and the high standards our customers have come to expect.

GY CACAO has a deep, powerful, raw chocolate flavour. Contrary to popular opinion, cacao contains very little caffeine. It has been clinically demonstrated that cacao does not elevate blood sugar in the same way as a food or beverage containing caffeine would. Instead, GY CACAO helps to create an overall state of bliss :). And to take it next level, our cacao is low temperature processed from start to finish!

Tidbits to note about Cacao:

  • Our CACAO may be naturally mood boosting and heart re-connecting.
  • Our CACAO may be an amazing weight loss food, natural energy enhancer and aphrodisiac.
  • Little to no caffeine naturally present.
  • CACAO may be the number one source of magnesium of any food on the planet.

Ingredients: Cacao powder (made from non roasted Ecuadorian Arriba criollo cacao beans).

Very nice robust flavour, great to add antioxidants and minerals to your shakes or smoothies. Gives kids extra good stuff too. I replaced my grocery store powder with this , great for keto, paleo diets too.

  2. chocolate heaven

Posted by Faith on 13th Mar 2016

I am sensitive to molds and would have reactions to most chocolates. When researching mold free chocolates, I found Giddy Yo Yo. I ordered the paste, butter and powder. I could smell the wonderful chocolately scent befor I even opened the bags. I have made my own chocolates using all of the ingredients and it is heavenly! And the best part is I don't get the jittery, yucky side effects of consuming mycotoxins. Woohoo! Thanks Giddy Yo Yo! :)

  3. Great raw organic cacao...

    ...and most important : fairtrade.
    Thanks Giddy yoyo !

  4. Excellent quality Chocolate without sugar!

Posted by Unknown on 12th Nov 2015

I was wanting to snack on Chocolate without sugar - this is the best chocolate bar I could find. The peppermint gave it a nice smooth flavour that did not make me miss the sugar in my chocolate at all :)

  5. My daily addiction

Posted by Gina on 3rd Jul 2015

I can't go one day without having some of Giddy Yoyo's cacao powder in my power shake. I have tried other cacao powders in the past, but, they just never cut it the way Giddy Yoyo's cacao powder has!
For ample power anytime of day make my power shake:
Add 1 heaping tbsp Giddy Yoyo cacao powder
    1/2 maca powder
    1 tbsp chia seeds
    1 tbsp flax seeds
1 to 1 1/2 cups milk of choice ( I usually use either rice milk, almond milk or coconut milk)
Combine all ingredients, blend and pour into a glass.

  6. Food for the God's

Posted by Greg Bradshaw on 26th Feb 2015

I put 1/2 cup coconut milk in a pot with a glug of maple syrup. As it gets hot I tap in the heaping table spoon of Cacao powder and whisk it together. Without boiling the mix ,you add coconut milk slowly. Sorry but my little finger is my thermometer. I don't want to damage the cacao by boiling it, so check often. This makes 2 mugs full probably 3 full cups divided. By it self or with Kahlua and Bialys it is unbelievable and we have one everyday . Yes I am addicted I save the alcohol for the weekend, that could get expensive for everyday use. Fantastic product and it screams quality. Love it Love it Love it!!!!!

  7. Tasty!

Posted by Jane on 4th Oct 2014

Rich arnd dark without bitterness. Used it in a raw recipe..Macadamia Nut Energy Bites. Turned out very well. I threw my store bought cocoa powder into the compost pile!

Package had a 2 year BB date...so a generous amount of time to use a 1 lb package.
