GY cacao paste is made from the highly prized Ecuadorian Arriba Nacional bean (aka cacao Arriba, or cacao Nacional). Arriba is a fine flavoured bean characterized by fruity and floral notes, and unique to Ecuador. Our paste is certified organic, Rainforest Alliance certified, common allergen-free, non GMO, naturally vegan and delicious!

The beans are hand-selected, fermented and dried to perfection. The skins are removed from the dried bean (aka winnowed) then ground into a liquid, tempered, cooled into a solid form and kibbled for ease of use. Our cacao is lab tested, clean and pure, never “Dutched” nor treated with toxic chemicals. GY cacao paste is low temperature processed from start to finish to maximize quality and taste while maintaining nutritional integrity.

Our farmers harvest fully mature ripened pods from trees grown in mineral-rich volcanic soil. The plantation from which we source is known for their high quality low cadmium fine flavour cacao. Our supplier has developed and implemented the Native Cacao Farming Initiative, which is an ongoing free education and training program for the cacao harvesters and processors. It is important to us that the Ecuadorians responsible for supplying us our unique cacao are well taken care of; we believe in people over profits. We lab test each lot of raw materials to ensure our high standards are met or exceeded.

Food safety is of primary importance and we are happy to share with you that our Ecuadorian partner holds the following certifications; Organic, UTZ, Rainforest Alliance, Kosher, Halal, Non-GMO, FSSC 22000 Food Safety System Certified, ISO 9001:2015, GMP, BRC Certified. Further steps have been taken to ensure the cacao is non-irradiated and common allergen-free.

Suggested use: GY cacao paste is ideal for making and adding to hot beverages (hot cocoa, coffee, chaga tea, elixirs.) smoothies, trail mix, desserts and other chocolate creations. Try making your own dark chocolate bar, truffles or bark (+nuts, seeds & dried fruit). Cacao paste is every similar to baking chocolate- it melts like chocolate and is 100% cacao so do not expect it to taste sweet (:

Smooth and Creamy

Great product to snack on its own for those watching their carb/sugar intake. A bit bitter at first but once left to melt in your mouth has that smooth cacao taste that satisfies those cravings and gets you off sugar chocolate! Have not tried it in baking yet.........

100% love this product as it makes the best chocolate in the world! Only thing I can say not ideal about it is that it feom rime to time is a bit gritty and needs further processing to smooth it out. Would give it 5 out of five otherwise!!

I go through a lot of cocoa paste making chocolates and truffles galore. In my opinion and experience/research Giddy yoyo cocoa paste is the best and indeed, is my favourite. I want to acknowledge how proud I am of Gidy Yoyo being a “small local” Canadian company where the owners and staff are such rare gems delivering excellent customer service including your Endearing “love notes” expressed on the delivery boxes. I have tried about 6 or 7 organic raw cacao products throughout my quest for the best Medicinal hot chocolate elixir and found that Giddy Yoyo's Organic Equadorian wild harvested raw cacao paste was the best for health and the best on the connoisseurial level as well as nothing tastes quite like it. Even my clients who have had it before can tell if I have used another brand! My delicious nutritious medicinal hot chocolate can only be this good with Giddy Yoyo!

this product is excellent and other sources pale in comparison. Anyone who appreciates fine cacao paste and enjoys using chocolate in recipes....Giddy Yoyo is the best. I always have a few pounds in the pantry.

I have researched and experimented with an array of 100% cacao paste and find Giddy Yoyo top notch and I am further partial to this product in light of the excellent service and respect to human rights and both at home and abroad. Dont change a thing...if it ain't broke dont fix it!!! Thank you!
